Managing Products
Add and manage your product catalogue in Caska, including pricing, recipe ingredients, stock level (if batch-create) and profit margins.
The Products module is your product catalogue. Each record holds pricing, costing, stock level (if batch-create), recipe, and any custom fields you've set up.
Adding a product
Go to Products and click New Product
Click Products in the main navigation, then + New.
Fill in the product details
- Product name (required) - Category - SKU, GTIN, public link - Price and unit - Cost per sellable unit (calculated automatically from recipe, or enter manually)
Add a product image and barcode
Optional but recommended if you want visual identification in lists and forms.
Choose your inventory items for both the sellable unit and the recipe batch for your product, entering in the amounts of each inventory item used. Indicate how many individual units a recipe creates and if enabled, how many hours of labour are required.
Save
Click Save to create the product.
Editing a product
Click any product in the list to open its detail page. You can edit all fields and view stock movement history from here if your account is set to batch-create.
Activating and deactivating products
Products can be marked as active or inactive. Inactive products are hidden from order forms but their records are preserved — useful for seasonal items or discontinued products.
Product sort order
Products follow a custom sort order, not alphabetical. Drag and drop rows in the product list to reorder. The order you set here is the order products appear in order forms and dropdowns throughout the app.
Set your sort order intentionally — your best-sellers or most-used products at the top saves time when creating orders.
