The Inventory module tracks your raw materials and packaging supplies — quantities on hand, costs, supplier information, and stock movements.

Go to Inventory and click New Item
Click Inventory in the main navigation, then + New.

Entering inventory purchase units
Caska is smart enough to navigate the difference between a purchased inventory unit and the unit of measurement for said unit. If you purchase bags of sugar at 4kg per bag, you'll enter 4 and kg in the weight per unit fields and "bag" in the purchase unit name. When restocking, you'll enter the number of bags you restocked (and not the weight of said bags.)
Editing an inventory item
Click any item in the list to open its detail page. You can update any field and view the full stock movement history from here.
Stock movements
Inventory stock changes in two ways:
- Restocks — manually log new stock when you receive a delivery. Open the item and use the Restock action or click the add stock button on the main inventory page.
- Order fulfillment — when an order is created, Caska automatically decrements the linked raw material quantities based on the product's recipe.
- Manual adjustments - you can manually adjust current stock levels at any time. Handy for recurring stock counts to account for spillage and waste so your counts stay as accurate as possible.
Linking inventory to products
To connect an inventory item to a product's recipe, open the product and add the item as a recipe ingredient or packaging material. See Recipe Ingredients & Costing for details.
