Lot Tracking

Record raw material lot numbers and expiry dates in Caska for food safety compliance, supplier traceability, and recall readiness.

Lot tracking lets you record which specific batch of raw material you're using — including lot numbers and expiry dates. This is important for food safety compliance, recall traceability, and quality control.

Adding a lot to an inventory item

Open an inventory item

Click any item in the Inventory list to open its detail page.

Find the Lots section and click Add Lot

Scroll to the Lots section and click Add Lot.

Enter the lot details

  • Lot number — from your supplier's label or your own internal numbering
  • Quantity received
  • Expiry date (optional)

Save

The lot is now recorded against this inventory item.

Why lot tracking matters

If a raw material supplier issues a recall, you can quickly identify which finished products were made using that lot — critical for food businesses in retail channels.

Expiry dates

Lots with expiry dates are visible in the lot list.

Caska does not currently auto-flag expired lots. Review your lot list periodically against current dates to catch any expired materials.
